2012 Gapers Block Criterium Series

March 26-29

Calumet Park, Chicago, IL

From March 26 to 29th you can race your bike everyday, in CHICAGO. Back for the 4th year, Half Acre Cycing and Gapers Block bring you a low cost, low key, and WAY beginner friendly race around Calumet Park. The Gapers Block Crits are a perfect way to get up to 8 mass-starts towards your 5 to 4 upgrade (for the guys). For the ladies, it’s a must-do practice race series or a (very) cheap way to see if racing in criteriums is for you. Women: if you need to borrow a geared road bike for the event, contact Vanessa at vanessa.buccella @ gmail.

Group Ride to Beer Under Glass

Join Half Acre Cycling for a group bicycle ride to CCBW's opening event, Beer Under Glass.

We'll meet up on Thursday, May 17 at Haymarket Brewery (grab one if you'd like!) and then roll out in groups at 5pm and 5:30pm together at a comfortable, no-drop pace to Garfield Park. Helmets are strongly encouraged, as is taking the CTA home with your bike if you've enjoyed a little too much. Tickets for Beer Under Glass are available starting 3/16 on the Garfield Park Conservatory website.
